I've noticed that male friendships can sometimes be very different from female friendships without being less deep or meaningful -- often, there's less talking about their lives and more enjoying being in the moment together, talking about what's happening right then. So "saw a moose" might really be a clear and complete report of what mattered about the trip? It might actually be reflective of a really deep, meaningful, present connection with these guys. And over-processing it or over-reporting it might ruin the simplicity of a pleasurable experience? (Not that it always does, of course -- no one is defined by their gender -- but there's bell curves and common trends that are real.)
